Your spiritual life is personal. CROWN is designed with that in mind.
This Privacy Policy explains how CROWN (“CROWN,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the CROWN iOS app, the CROWN website, and related services.
CROWN is operated by Milton de Sousa Penelas, established in Germany.
If you have a privacy question or want to exercise a privacy right, you can contact us through our Support page.
1. What CROWN Is Designed to Protect
CROWN is a Biblical Life Companion.
People may use CROWN to talk about personal situations, read Scripture, reflect, save passages, create next steps, use My Walk, and — where available — use AI-assisted and Voice features.
Some of this information can be deeply personal and may reveal religious beliefs, personal circumstances, relationships, emotional experiences, or other sensitive information.
We therefore design CROWN around a simple principle:
Private spiritual and personal content should be used only when it is needed to provide the experience you asked for.
We do not sell your private CROWN content.
We do not use the content of your private conversations, My Walk entries, Memory, crisis situations, or biblical tradition as advertising attributes.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
CROWN is designed to keep personal experience data local to your device wherever reasonably possible.
Depending on the features you use, locally stored information may include:
- Bible reading position
- saved Scripture
- highlights
- conversation history
- My Walk entries
- reflections
- Walk Plans
- reminders
- Memory items you explicitly choose to save
- app preferences and settings
Conversation History, My Walk, and Memory are separate parts of CROWN.
They are not treated as one hidden profile.
Where controls are available, you can delete or clear those items separately.
Removing the app from your device may also remove locally stored information that has not been backed up or otherwise retained through an applicable Apple service.
3. Information Processed When You Use CROWN AI
When you use an AI-assisted feature — for example Carry, Understand, contextual Scripture assistance, or another CROWN intelligence feature — CROWN must process the information necessary to answer your request.
This may include:
- the message you send
- the Scripture reference or passage involved
- recent conversation context
- relevant context you have explicitly allowed CROWN to use
- selected My Walk information
- selected Memory information
- saved Scripture or other active material required for that request
CROWN is designed to send only context that is reasonably necessary for the feature being used.
AI requests may be processed by CROWN servers and trusted AI infrastructure providers.
CROWN does not use an AI model's memory as the source of official Bible text.
When exact Scripture text is displayed as Scripture, it comes from CROWN's Bible content layer and applicable licensed or authorized sources.
AI-generated explanations can make mistakes. They should be read alongside Scripture, not treated as Scripture.
4. Conversation History
CROWN may keep conversation history locally on your device so you can continue a conversation later.
CROWN is not designed around a cloud database containing your complete private conversation transcript.
Certain messages or limited context may still need to be transmitted temporarily to our servers and AI providers when you actively request an AI response.
Technical systems may also process limited metadata required to deliver, secure, meter, or troubleshoot the service.
5. Voice
When you use CROWN Voice, your audio must be transmitted to the systems required to provide the live Voice experience.
CROWN does not keep a recording of your voice.
Raw Voice audio is intended to be processed transiently for the live experience and is not stored by CROWN as a personal audio archive.
Where Voice contributes to Conversation History or My Walk, the app may retain the text or structured information required for that feature, subject to the controls available in CROWN.
CROWN may process technical Voice usage information such as:
- session timing
- usage duration
- entitlement status
- connection status
- technical error information
This information may be required to enforce Voice allowances, provide the service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot technical problems.
6. Memory
Memory is separate from Conversation History and My Walk.
Where Memory is available:
- it is opt-in
- you can review what CROWN remembers
- you can edit or remove remembered information
- you can clear Memory
- CROWN should use only relevant Memory when it helps answer a request
CROWN does not treat Memory as a hidden spiritual, psychological, or diagnostic profile.
7. Sensitive and Religious Information
Some information you choose to share with CROWN may reveal religious beliefs or other sensitive personal information.
CROWN processes that information only where necessary to provide a feature you requested or where you have chosen to provide it.
We do not use religious tradition, private spiritual conversations, or crisis content for advertising targeting.
8. Subscriptions and Apple
CROWN subscriptions and in-app purchases on iPhone are processed by Apple.
CROWN does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
To provide paid features, CROWN may receive or process information such as:
- purchase or transaction identifiers
- subscription product
- entitlement status
- renewal or expiration status
- information needed to verify a legitimate Apple purchase
Apple processes payment information under Apple's own privacy policies and terms.
9. Technical and Security Information
Like most online services, CROWN and its infrastructure providers may process technical information necessary to operate and secure the service.
This can include:
- IP address
- request timestamp
- app version
- device or operating-system information
- request identifiers
- server response status
- security events
- crash or diagnostic information
- subscription or usage status
We design our logging so that private free-form spiritual content should not be included in ordinary analytics, advertising attribution, or routine crash logging.
10. Analytics and Advertising
The CROWN iOS app does not use your private conversation content, My Walk content, Memory, crisis content, or biblical tradition for advertising.
The iOS app is not designed to use Meta SDK tracking, IDFA-based advertising, or ATT-based behavioral advertising.
The public CROWN website may process basic technical information required to operate the site.
If non-essential analytics, advertising pixels, or similar technologies are introduced on the website, this Privacy Policy and any legally required consent controls must be updated before those technologies are used.
11. Support Messages
If you contact CROWN through the Support form, we collect the information you submit, which may include:
- your name
- your email address
- the support category you choose
- your message
- technical information you voluntarily provide
We use this information to answer your request, investigate an issue, protect the service, or comply with legal obligations.
Do not include highly sensitive information unless it is necessary for us to understand your support request.
12. Notifications
If you choose to enable notifications, CROWN may schedule or deliver reminders related to features you have chosen to use.
CROWN is designed so that lock-screen notification text does not reveal the private situation you shared with the app.
You can change notification permissions through your device settings.
13. Who We Share Information With
We may share information with service providers only where reasonably necessary to operate CROWN.
These may include providers that support:
- AI processing
- Voice processing
- hosting and infrastructure
- Bible content
- Apple purchase verification
- email and customer support
- security and technical operations
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a lawful business restructuring.
We do not sell your private CROWN conversations or spiritual content for money.
14. International Processing
Some of our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
Where applicable law requires it, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for international data transfers.
15. How Long We Keep Information
Local information generally remains on your device until you delete it, clear the relevant feature, or remove the application.
Server-side technical, security, subscription, and usage information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including security, fraud prevention, service operation, accounting, and legal obligations.
Support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request and maintain appropriate business records.
CROWN is not designed to keep raw Voice recordings.
16. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:
- request access
- request correction
- request deletion
- request restriction of processing
- object to certain processing
- request portability where applicable
- withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
- lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority
Some CROWN data can be controlled directly inside the app.
For other privacy requests, use the Privacy & Data option on our Support page.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
17. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by CROWN.
No online service, device, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Please protect access to your iPhone, Apple Account, and device credentials.
18. Age Requirement
CROWN is intended for adults aged 18 and older.
CROWN is not intended for children.
If we learn that personal information has been submitted by someone who is not eligible to use the service, we may take appropriate steps to delete or restrict that information.
19. AI Training
CROWN does not make participation in model training a condition of using the service.
Private CROWN conversations are not intentionally contributed to model training by CROWN as part of ordinary product use.
If CROWN ever introduces an optional program that allows users to contribute content for product or model improvement, that program must use separate, explicit and revocable consent.
20. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as CROWN evolves.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
